Discovering Nature-Inspired Art
My work is an invitation to exhale. In a world increasingly defined by lines, polarities, and a relentless pace, I view my creative practice as a gentle protest—a quiet remedy designed to draw us back to the beauty that remains available to everyone, equally, in every moment.
I am driven by the 'hush and pulse' of the natural world, seeking to capture the presence found in the view both above and right in front of us. Whether I am painting the vastness of a prairie horizon or the intimate, intricate details of a single bloom, my focus is on the light that dwells within. I am less interested in a literal representation of a scene and more focused on its inherent luminosity—capturing that whispered radiance that is often more powerful than the rush and striving of daily life.
With the discipline of a scientist and the heart of a storyteller, I use expressive color and movement to encourage a slowing down. My hope is that these pieces serve as a common ground where we can set down our divisions and reconnect with a shared sense of gratitude and wonder. Ultimately, my art is a call to be still, to notice the small, and to be enveloped by a peace that heals and unifies.
