Some places do not announce themselves. Resting Reflection opens on one of them — tamarack in full gold closed around still water, arrived at rather than looked for, with no sense of how far off the road might be.
Its quiet comes from repetition. Gold, amber, and ochre are laid on thickly and vertically between the dark spires of spruce, until the far shore reads as a wall of light rather than a row of trees, and the water returns every bit of it in long soft columns — colour kept, structure released, the surface glassy enough to hold the whole stand and generous enough to soften it. Everything said once above is said again below, more gently, and the eye may rest in either.
Wonder does not require a horizon. It can arrive in a place this small and this quiet, and NeuroArts is interested in what such moments make available to us. This one offers what a crowded week seldom can: peace, a place to exhale, and time to reflect — nothing asked, and nothing needing an answer while you stay.
